Firefest is an annual event and this year it was held in Bradford. Bradford is a friendly place and accommodation is easy to find - the town is not too congested either. It was a long day at the FireFest - doors opened at noon and it went on into the small hours of the morning. There was plenty to see, PRIDE started the show off, and well worth seeing as well - those boys know how to get your blood warmed up and in the mood!!! Many good acts followed, though the ones that stood out most for me was PRIDE, TNT were exceptional, wow, their lead guitarist is a talented guy for sure - only aided by a great bunch of guys who are a credit to the music they make. The main act of the show was of course Soul Sirkus - Neal Schon and the guys - well, I'd never heard Neal play live until then, and I was beginning to wonder if he would outstrip TNT's lead guitarist, but yes he did, no suprise there! Virgil is an outstanding drummer, and what can I say, Jeff & Marco are brilliant as well. All in all a good show, and yes I will be at the next one I hope! Karen and I were lucky enough to meet the guys after the show, a real privilege, Neal is a really good guy to talk to, all the band are friendly and down to earth. They are all keen to see Soul Sirkus go far - and I'm sure it will. If you haven't seen a live band before than I suggest you do - I liked some of the music, but since that show I can really relate to it and I gotta say it's a long time since I have enjoyed listening to rock so much!
