UK Journey Fan Club


Each year a group of fans gets together to celebrate the rock band Journey, to share memories and discuss future shows/tours, and also to get to know one another.

The first meeting of the UK Journey fan club was in the Hard Rock cafe in Leeds where 13 fans met for the first time to celebrate Journey.  There were raffles and auctions and we raised £270 which was donated to the Callie Shafer Fund.

The next meeting was 2005 Convention in Stourbridge.  Over a hundred fans this time, raffles, auctions and quizzes - this time also a DJ and a band Essential Journey played as well. A donation of £400 was raised for Derian House Childrens' Hospice in Chorley, Lancashire.

The 2006 Convention, the bigest so far was quite a  night.  All the ussual raffles, auctions and quizzes.  There was a special video showing at the start of the show with messages from the band.  Essential Journey also performed again - fabulous as ever - all hosted by our DJ. Cash raised this time was the grand sum of £2000 to Claire House in Wirral.

2007 Convention is to be held in Sheffield at The Corporation.  There will be live bands Jagged Edge and Essential Journey hosted by our very own DJ Stevie The top prize in the 2007 Convention Auction will be  - Meet Journey, spend an afternoon with them at the Hammersmith show, includes tickets for the show, sit  in on the sound check and other fantastic surprises.

So what does the UK Journey Fan Club have to offer YOU?

Well, there's a great crowd of people, a real friendly forum, all the latest news, and MUCH MORE!

Cathy, Mike, Sue and Marty who run the UK Journey Fan club will always do their level best to make sure you know where and when your favourite band will be touring. Marty takes some great pictures of all the gigs he visits, Cathy, some of her drawings have raised pounds for our charity auctions.

When Journey tour the UK we all help each other out with travel directions, where to stay, and there is always a designated pre-show meeting place too, and sometimes an after show party.

Once a year the UK Fan Club organise an official meeting, a get together where fans travel form far and near to have a really good time, put a face to the people you've been talking to on the forum, and raise money for charity. There's ussually a fan shop, and raffles and auctions for some fabulous prizes. Theres usually a support group as well for a little entertainment.

The money donated to Claire House from this years UK Journey Fans Convention was used to fund their 'Sing Out for the Children' event in Liverpool’s Christ the King Cathedral. By utilizing your donation for sponsorship even more money was raised, the net figure being £11,200 after expenses. Well Done everybody!
