-= San Francisco - December 2005 =-

This part of the trip took us to San Francisco and in particular Fisherman's Wharf.

Some of these amazing sights including a maritime museum, the stalls selling the fresh fish, the famous seal colony in the harbour, and also amazingly spectacular are the views of Alcatraz. If I visit again I will try to make time to take a boat trip to the island.

We did manage a meal in the Hard Rock Cafe though. Fine food and a good atmosphere too. The staff were really friendly - not like in the UK where alot of the time the food is practically thrown at you.

As we worked our way back to the car for the journey home it was starting to get dark, and the lights along the wharf are a sight as well. We could have spent days there rather than hours - but then I supose that leaves something for next time.

We had just enough time to see the Bammie Awards and City Hall.

As you can see from the few pictures City Hall boasts some nice gardens and looks spendid with the lighting. We never did see the city as being busy on the streets, but the traffic - that was another story altogether.

I think on another visit I would like to trawl the shops in the city centre as well. Wherever we went in the states it was clean, and pleasant, and not the wall to wall cars and smog etc... that the movies would lead you to beleive!

Notice the awards - Journey, Metallica, Jeferson Starship to name but a few. I think my only complaint is they would have been better had they been kept cleaner....
