Dundee is one of Scotland's more famous cities.

Abertay University, one of Scotland's leading universities, amongst many of the cities attractions,   but I like this one - the maritime Museum

Dundee sits on the north bank of the river Tay and is quite large but is easily accessible traveling north on the motorway about 1 hour from the forth road bridge.

The ship as you can see is the Discovery as used in the Arctic explorations with quite alot of information about the expeditions - we spent a few hours there, but to be honest if you really want to research the subject I would allow a full day for this site.
